Reading (navigating) in wiki

Here we describe how to navigate in the wiki lineup and how to manipulate the lineup to meet your present reading interest.

The way wiki works is different from ordinary pages that we typically see in a web browser. Wiki pages appear side by side in the same browser window - this is called **'the lineup'**. The lineup format is more powerful than the multiple single-page tabs we generally work with in the browser. The wiki lineup of pages See also: The wiki page

But the lineup is also more complex, so it is possible to get lost as further pages are added. Eventually pages scroll off-screen to the left. Clicking a link in the middle of a lineup will replace pages that had been on the right. We'll describe how to see pages that have scrolled off screen to the left, and how to retrieve pages that have been over-written to the right because links have been clicked. > Because of the lineup, wiki needs to be used on a laptop or desktop, with a wide browser window. It's hard to read on a phone.

The lineup is a flexible presentation that can be manipulated by a reader. We'll describe how to manipulate the lineup so that it best meets your reading and navigating needs right now. Manipulating the lineup

We also will describe how search works in wiki, and how to mobilise 'the neighborhood' of federated sites. Search in the neighborhood See also: The toolbar footer
